7, Prices = Donations only

All CHOCA prices = 'donations only'

a, MONEY   //  b, SERVICES   //   c, BARTERING (giving / lending objects)...

.................................................................................................................

1 / 3, SUGGESTIONS GUIDE: Various people have asked for suggestions as they feel unsure / nervous they may give 'too much' and look silly or 'too little' and look mean.
1: its entirely up to the participant.
2: no one sees who gives what anyway!
But if it makes u feel better here r some suggestions - remember plz be as flexible as u want !!

1a, MONEY: A 'hat' is passed around so no one knows who gives what. Hard to suggest how much because every1 earns different amounts! Things to consider:
- how much do u earn?
- how much would u usually pay for such a workshop? eg between 5 - 10 an hour?
- U might want to pay a bit more as u realise u can also pay for a colleague.
- U might want to pay less / nothing because u might not have much or no money.... Therefore u may want to offer a service or give / lend an object or simply pay later.
..........and remember ' every1 is always welcome with a smile and a hug :)

1b, GOODS ( give or lend ) :
Instead of money u could give / lend an object. The object could be new or functional 2nd hand may be just as welcome :) . Do u have 2 food mixers but only need 1?? Simply ask what the coordinator wants / needs eg: books / food / guitar etc.

It is totally ok to lend instead of give something ( eg a guitar for a month, a camera for a day to take fotos at a special event etc)

.........

1c, SERVICES: suggestion: 1 hour service for 1 hour activity
Ask if the coordinator wants / needs a service eg: language lessons, a translation, etc. Most people offer an  hour 'service' for an hour art activity.

................

2 / 3, WHERE THE PAYMENT GOES:
a: DONATIONS AT THE ARTS ACTIVITIES: The art coordinator keeps all the donations,

b: FUND-RAISING: Cover costs of running CHOCA

..................

3 / 3, WHY 'DONATIONS'?? The reason is simple – if u have a fixed price only those who can afford it will be able to participate. CHOCA believes strongly that art is a right for every1 - not a privilege. While many can afford a fixed price some simply can't. 'Donations only' means every1 is included equally with or without money.

..........and remember ' every1 is always welcome with a smile and a hug :)
